The birmingham show was both my first arena show, and more importantly, my first PCD show. I have to say, I wasn't disappointed.
I found Rihanna's opening act a bit obscure, because there were several parts where she wasn't actually on stage and it was just her dancers and a cd performing.
The crowd went absolutely insane when PCD came on; the noise was more intense than any rock show I've ever been to.
It was obvious that Nicole, Carmit, and Melody were the three main "singers" in the group, whereas Ashley, Jessica, and Kimberly were the three main "dancers" of the group. That was alright by me because the second three dance so nicely! It would have been nice to have heard them sing solo though. Maybe next time.
There was a long speech a few songs in where they thanked the crowd several times for believing in them, and Jessica choked up and got emotional, which was absolutely adorable of her.
Obviously, one of the highlights of the show has to be the fact that Robin Antin was there. She came up on stage and danced during the "show us what you got" segment of the show, and surprisingly, she didn't win! She was beaten by a little girl called Danielle.
They finished with a wicked extended version of Don't Cha, which was good to sing along to, and my friend and I changed the lyrics to our own personal preferences which was a lot of fun, haha.
Highlights of the show: Kim's dancing, Jess choking up, and seeing Robin Antin.
Lowlights of the show: So much emphasis on Nicole, Rihanna's set, and the over-pricing on the merchandise.
Birmingham was my first PCD show, and I'm really hoping it won't be my last!
