Pussycat Dolls On Tour // Doll Domination Tour // Reviews

Pussycat Dolls bought their Doll Domination tour to Newcastle with raunchy songs and even raunchier outfits but it all pretty much seemed a family affair with fans of all ages enjoying the concert. The girls may ask you boyfriend if he wishes you were “hot” like them but there’s no doubt that their female fans love them as they screamed and danced along with their biggest hits.

As the arena darkened and glow sticks shone, small snippets of Pussycat Dolls hits were played before a video of the girls was show. Next 5 motorbikes with a Pussycat Doll on each one appeared as the screams got louder. They opened with Takin Over The World from the Doll Domination album. I was expecting something a bit more well known but this certainly got the crowd in the mood for a great show.

We all know Nicole as the lead singer of the group but each Doll got their chance to perform their solo material from the special edition of Doll Domination album. I don’t have that version of the album so hearing new songs was fun for me and they all showed that they are more than just pretty backup dancers for Nicole. I also thought it was cute how each girl introduced the next one coming up.

A video of Nicole giving a brief history of how Pussycat Dolls came about with its burlesque roots was played before Ashley, Kimberly and Jessica came on doing a burlesque routine complete with poles and feathers. Melody later joined them to sing Big Spender.

The dancing as you expect was top notch and I’m happy to have seen the infamous Kimberly standing split in the flesh lol, Couldn’t believe it when she bent over a bar and lifted her leg backwards and totally up and straight. I’ve seen it on pictures but she makes it look so easy.

They are all sickenly gorgeous haha. I never really took much notice of her before but I was really surprised at how pretty Jessica is. She is actually like a doll.

The only real down point for me personally was I thought their could have been more costume changes but that is just the girly girl in me and I love looking at what people are wearing.

All in all it was a brilliant concert - great singing and dancing with pyrotechnics and flames throw in (not literally) for good measure. Ill certainly be going to the next tour.

I cant leave this review without talking a little about Lady GaGa and Ne-Yo who were the support acts. Lady GaGa was the current number one at the time so her hit Lets Dance certainly got the crowd dancing and singing along and she sang about 7 other songs as well. Ne-Yo sang about 12 songs which I think was excellent for a support act especially as he is a well-known singer and there seemed to be a lot of his fans in the audience as well.
