Kings Hall goes gaga for the dazzling Dolls
Wednesday, 4 February 2009
Lady Gaga set the tone of the evening at Belfast’s Kings Hall with her own particular brand of electronic pop. The eye catching songstress wowed the crowd as she belted out the tunes in a silver-sequined bikini, the perfect opening act to get the crowd going.
Pussycats Dolls, love them or hate them, certainly know how to put on a show.
Lead singer Nicole Scherzinger can certainly hit her notes and she was ably assisted by her fellow bandmates.
The girls are known for their raunchy outfits, sexy dancing and fantastic pop tunes, not terribly surprising for a group which originally started as a burlesque troupe, roots that were well remembered in their routines last night.
Making their entrance astride motorbikes, they burst onto the stage with the hit Beep, driving the crowd into a frenzy.
The entire audience, old and new were on their feet as they pumped out such hits as I Don’t Need A Man To Make It Happen, When I Grow Up and I Hate This Part.
The girls strutted and sparkled their stuff all over the stage and through every single track.
Although the group has courted controversy in the past, the answer to the question ‘would you take your daughter to see the Pussycat Dolls?’ was well answered, as the audience contained those as young as seven, enjoying every minute of it. An excellent show.
